» Press Release: San Antonio Imports Expands City-Wide Reach
February 10, 2012
By Sarah Jones San Antonio imports is currently expanding its online presence from a forum open to local enthusiasts to a media outlet covering news and events within the import community.
As the seventh largest city in the U.S., San Antonio is host to over one million residents. Import drivers in the metropolitan are split into small groups and divided across the city. San Antonio Imports provides a place for these drivers and fans to come together and discuss favorite imports, plan car meets, and share write-ups or how-to articles. The forum provides sections for different vehicle makes and models as well as technical issues and general discussion.
Now to further support the local import scene, editors will report on related news and events for community members. Articles will feature weekly meets, upcoming Texas-wide events, local rides, and press releases. San Antonio Imports will continue to build relationships with organizations and local teams while bringing members the best of the import community. Local members can show support by purchasing stickers, t-shirts, and custom license plate frames online.
To submit an event or news piece for review, e-mail skunk@sa-i.net. An editor will contact you for more information.
What started as a rainy day in San Antonio, turned out to be a great day in Austin. Met up in SA to cruise out to CCM12 in Austin TX. Great meet. Great support.

LIVE OAK, Texas - Images of stolen car parts on Facebook lead Live Oak Police to part of a possible chop shop said Sgt. Anita Seamans.
Sgt. Seamans said investigators seized 65 pieces of evidence from 28-year-old Nicolas Torres' home.
"Several other car parts, head light assemblies, tail light assemblies, radios, GPS systems, VIN plates to other vehicles," she said. "It appears this is an active, ongoing criminal enterprise. It may have been components of a chop shop, yes."
"Chris" says he found pictures his missing motor on Torres' Facebook page, not long after his car was stolen in late December..............

Local drift talent has been searching for a legal outlet to practice and show off sliding skills. Fabricated Motorsports is just about to begin their annual solution to legal drifting. Lone Star Drift Pro Am kicks off the 2012 series March 17 at Gulf Greyhound Park in Houston. In conjunction with performance parts producer Non Stop Tuning’s 7th anniversary event, it is expected to draw a large crowd of import enthusiasts.
To participate, drivers must pay a $75 entry fee and bring a helmet. Convertibles need to be equipped with a roll bar, and tandem cars must have a full cage with door bars. To register, contact erinshill@gmail.com. This year, four Formula 1 Drift licenses for the 2013 seasons will be awarded to the top four points winners.
Last year, 23-year- old Chelsea Denofa from Seabrook, Texas took first place driving his E36 for Non Stop Tuning. This year’s known competitors include Houston drifters Team Silhouette. Members Robert Lee and Brad Burnett placed in the top four last series, each winning a Formula 1 drift license. CMS Performance is also sponsoring drivers for the upcoming event. Drifters from Houston-based community support organization Handicap Mafia are currently working on a full cage and Stephen Bayles will be competing to represent the group. Other members will be driving but not competing.
Spectators may attend Lone Star Drift events for only $10. Future locations include Dallas and San Antonio, but dates have not been released. To see a few competitors’ builds in progress and read recaps of last year’s event, visit Fabricated Motorsports online. Details are posted in their news updates at www.fabricatedmotorsports.com.
